Roanoke Times, 1-18-10, Pg 1 & 16: Haiti Aid distribution a struggle
-
Why is there such a major difference between the media coverage of Katrina vs. Haiti?
-
In Haiti it’s hard, it’s a struggle, roads are out, bridges are out, the infrastructure is in ruins and the local government is non-functional.
-
All these things were also present in New Orleans, but there it was Browne, FEMA and Bush all directly and personally responsible for the death and destruction and misery of black people; and with the implication that racism was a factor.
-
So now, where are all the other anti-American American-hating governments? Wasn’t Obama supposed to foster a world-wide community of nations for the mutual benefit?
Where’s the English, French, Germans, Russians, Chinese and most of all the UN into which we pour hundreds of millions of dollars each year? Where are their ships and helicopters and disaster teams? Where's Norway & Sweden with their hundreds of Billions of oil money and Nobel Prize?
-
This looks a lot like the Tsunami mess! Our assets, our people, our equipment and in the end a good stiff kick in our pants and being told-off by the victims and our world-order “friends” that we didn’t do enough and didn’t do it well either. Even the victims kicked us out with little or no thanks or ongoing gratitude; all George Bush’s fault no doubt.
-
Unfortunately the worst is yet to come. The starvation and misery of the people will drive them back into their most basic DNA behavior. Then when our marines are forced to shoot violent rioters and looters, in many cases in self-defense, we will once again be painted in the most negative way and our people will be on trial yet again.
-
Unfortunately in real life: No good American deed goes unpunished.
