It’s a part of natural variability said Gerald Meehl, senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Co.

Amazing how ClimateGate combined with a “cold snap” can change the alarmists tune!

We are indeed in a long-term heating trend. It’s 250 years long and it started in 1750 at the end of the little ice age and it clearly has NOT been caused by mankind or CO2.

The statement “part of natural variability” is a nice touch. Didn’t see that in Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” in which he purposely reversed the cause-effect between temperature and CO2. Closer scrutiny of his famous chart shows that CO2 LAGS temperature changes from 200 to 800 years thereby falsifying the Gore-IPCC--hypothesis.

We’ve had “cold snaps” before. The first half of my life, the 35 years from 1940 to 1975 was a major global cooling period during a time of increasing atmospheric CO2. Clearly this global cooling was also caused by “natural variability”.

We may never know the depth of data manipulation revealed by ClimateGate, however there are those who are developing a 30 year time-line of the manipulation of the data and of the mis&dis-information that was fostered upon the public.

The question now is what are the responsibility, accountability and liability of those who manipulated this “crisis” for their own benefit and will the liberal media finally wake up and smell the natural coffee?
