Early GPS for orienteering mapping




Back in the early 1990s, Lou Betros began using GPS for making orienteering maps. This is his early set up. The GPS is a prototype from Garmin. He added batteries and an external antenna. The gear is attached to a board that fits into a backpack. Lou passed away last week.
