Have you ever felt that you are looking for lost treasure in your own home? There are two types of "lost treasure".
First~ the kind that you know that you have. That special photo or cake plate that you can not find ever since you remodeled.
Second~ the kind of treasure that you did not know you ever had, under valued by you for years, stuffed in a corner of the storage room.
I am addressing the FIRST. To be specific, my Shabby Chic books. They are just as important to me as my embroidery book and now my new crochet book. I have ALL of Rachel Ashwell's books. :) I value each one, and each one is signed by Rachel, thanks to Caitlin for encouraging me to go to her book signing in Chicago. Thank YOU Cailtin :) I do have a very special and lovely daughter... but that is an entire book :) One for Daughter and one for Son :)
Back to subject... lost treasures. Yes, plural. When we remodeled the kitchen and also emptied out the dining room, so it could get a beautiful oak floor, I packed them, all of my Shabby Chic books, away. Hubby assuring me that they would only be gone for a month at the longest. I safely placed them in a strong box and he took them down to the basement, into my area. I now use this term "my area" very loosely. It has been taken over with hockey equipment on one side, YUCK and boxes of Christmas decorations, etc. etc. etc. etc..... My special box was lost. It was not with the boxes of dishes that came from the kitchen. :( sad. I would go down there to look every once in awhile to no avail.
THEN last weekend I went down to specifically look in the hubby's area. THERE was a heavy box, and books were in it!!! MY books! Found!!! So Happy.
Now they are back in my dining room/ library. Treasure found! :)
Have you lost a treasure? Is it still waiting to be found? Have you found it?
Rachel Ashwell will be releasing a new book this fall, Happy news in very rough waters.
Hugs,
Mary
