"One Nation Under God"
Today is May 1st. Today is May Day. (When you secretly leave a basket or jar of flowers on a neighbors porch). I have always loved May Day. Last year we marked this day with the famous May Day basket Swap Hosted by Kari
But most importantly, today is The National Day of Prayer. If you are a sports fan, you can hear Tony Dungy speak of this day. And if you love to read or love history, Check out Former Speaker of The House, Newt Gingrich's book, Rediscovering God In America. And if you love films, you can see what Newt and Callista are talking about at their site.
I have found that I love to learn of the lives of those such as the two sisters in the film, The Hiding Place. And most recently a talk given by
Maira Anne, known as Hansi to her friends, who wrote of her life in "Hansi, The Girl Who Left the Swastika-Her Life Story
I leave you with this quote by William Penn: "My fellow Americans, you have a choice. You may be governed by God or ruled by tyrants".
With choices comes responsibility for those choices.
Love & Peace
Mary
