Summer

Two Sweeties

Look at these Two Sweeties! I reached into the bag for a cherry and look what came out! I actually set them aside and several days later of life I remembered I needed to take a picture of them yet! No one was seeing them in the fridge so I have placed them in a pretty over sized cup, hoping to entice an early riser.

Summer

I actually ATE one BEFORE I bought them!!! So not like me! But I did not want sour or under ripe cherries. It was delicious!!!! And cherries are not even my fav. fruit. BLUEBERRIES are! Now we're talking! But blueberry season is still a few weeks away. And these cherries are sooo good! We are from Michigan and had met a family when we first moved here that was from Traverse City,MI. They LOVE cherries, for there home town is overflowing with these beauties. Festivals galore! In fact all of the west coast of Michigan (oh, I say coast because of Lake Michigan) is ripe with fruit of all types just about! We have cherries, strawberries, apples, grapes and blueberries. My parents would take us picking apples, blueberries and once my brother and his girlfriend took me to pick cherries. I must digress and ask if anyone has ever picked tomatoes? Friends of my parents who owned an extreme amount of property would invite us to there tomato garden. There is nothing to compare the taste of a sun warmed, just picked tomato with it's juices squirting every which way as you take that sun kissed bite!. Delicious! This is not such a digression for tomatoes are a fruit!!! My hubby and I have taken our kids picking apples on a number of occasions, but since moving to Chicago Land the picking of fruit is slim. Picking fruits to take home, I feel, is an extremely wonderful family activity. The chances for fun abound!
